Meet Jr. Coach Izzy Melnychuk

My name is Izzy Melnychuk. I have been playing volleyball for about 2 and a half years, with SAS since I started playing competitive at U13. I have always been an active person, playing sports since a young age, such as gymnastics, soccer, basketball, and now volleyball. I currently attend St. Albert Catholic Highschool and was a part of the junior volleyball team this year that won the regional championship. The position I played that kick started my volleyball journey was as a middle in school. Later with club, I transitioned to outside hitter, and now I have been training for several months this year to be a libero at U16 next year. I love volleyball because I find it’s a sport that pushes me to grow both mentally and physically, but also because of all the special relationships and friends you make along the way. This will be my first year beginning to coach, and I am excited to be able to help others succeed in their volleyball journey and pass along the knowledge and skills that I have learned thus far.
