Meet Jr. Coach Izzy McCormack
My name is Izzy McCormack. I’ve been involved in sport ever since I was a little kid. Gymnastics is what started it all. Then soccer, ball hockey, wrestling, rugby. You name it, I’ve played it. But when I started getting into volleyball in junior high, I knew that it was the sport for me. It provided a space where I was able to be loud, aggressive, and I could control the back court in my position, libero. I’ve played club volleyball for SAS for the past three years, and I am excited to continue on to play at SAS for my u18 year! I am also going into my grade 12 year at St. Albert Catholic High School, where I play on the senior team. After starting to coach volleyball this past year, I have learned how valuable it can be for a young player getting advice from someone that is so passionate about the sport. It is amazing to see my own hard work rub off on other kids. I get so much joy out of coaching as I’m able to share my own experiences, and what I know about volleyball with these young players to make them better.
